We had a fantastic time in Hakone National Park and Mac, the general manager of Lakeside Inn ,was an important reason why. He is a fabulous chef and so helpful to us. He also speaks excellent English. The setting of the Inn is perfect and the room was large and airy with sliding doors overlooking the lake. The bath was terrific as well. Highest ratings from us. Fantastic location, right across from the train station. Room was perfect for me. Small and comfortable. Remember to ask for a nonsmoking room when you book as I forgot. But they sprayed my room with some nice smelly spray. The onsen upstairs is really beautiful and the best way to relax after a day in Hakone! JustineFrom AustraliaApr. I love Hakone Suimeisou Annex. The location is very convenient, and the single room at the Annex is warm and clean. I have a very comfortable stay here, and the indoor hotspring is good too. For non-smokers, do remember to request for a room on the non-smoking floor. By the way, I understand Hakone is a place for relaxation and to be away from computers, however, it will be good to provide at least one computer with Internet access, as travellers may need to use that to plan their itinerary. nFrom Hong KongJan.
