This hostel lies at the top of Hakone mountainous area, in Naka-Gora. Overall, a decent location for those who want to be in said area, however a location closer to Gora station would be better since the cable car does not start running until around 7:30AM. The hotel from the outside looks like it has seen better days. However, the Ryokan room for three was quite spacious and equipped. This hostel even has it's own natural onsen, and the sushi supper was genuine. Overall, a nice experience.

This was a lovely discovery - very reasonably priced, beautiful area, and out-of-the-way so you have a feeling of adventure and seclusion when you are there. The onsens are wonderful - hot and minerally, and you feel truly refreshed afterwards. The highlight is the food, though. Take dinner and breakfast here, as they really put a lot of effort into preparing truly wonderful meals that are an adventure in Japanese cuisine. Be prepared to use your chopsticks creatively though.
