Very nice atmosphere, very quiet. We feel very safe, it was an enjoy travel around this beautiful old town , houses with fabulous gardens (specially tree). We have enjoyed the temples shrines path around the town. The staff was pleasant, kind and helpful. We enjoyed the summer. It was very beautiful and so good! We recommend the minshuku kuwataniya for every body. Gendre Jul. ‘10 Stayed at Minshuku Kuwataniya, Hida Takayama |

The dinner & breakfast service was a total cultural experience, people should definitely try them. The room was comfortable, and we felt safe. The place is very easy to find, We took the city bus to the wait sightseeing sights. Kinkakuji is a must! The staff are very polite & the service is excellent! a little bit difficult to communicate in English, but that adds the flavor of a read traditional Ryokan! This place was amazing from the owners who were extremely welcoming and even gave us a lift to the monkey park as it was quite late when we arrived to the building itself which is impressive in it's character. We can not recommend this place more highly. The surrounding area is also impressive and if you get the opportunity then I would highly recommend the 45 minute walk back to Yudanaka from the monkey park. Very beautiful and authentic Japanese style thatched-roofed house, harking back to a lost era. Meals are extensive, tasty, and filling. Staff very helpful, sincerely kind, great English. Not disappointed. Nathaniel From U.S.A. Apr '10 Stayed at Hida-Gassho-en, Gifu Prefecture. |

Lovely lovely hosts and wonderful location and hotel. Serenely quiet and peaceful. One tip - if you are arriving late try and let them know as we missed our train and arrived late and Mr Yumoto spent about two hours going back and forth from the train station waiting for us! :(Oopss... Lovely lovely place, can't wait to go back one day!!!Thank you so much. Jonathan From UK June ‘10 Stayed at Shimaya Ryokan, Yudanaka Onsen, Nagano Pref. |
