Snow Monkey Park - Jigokudani Area - Wafu-no Yado Masuya

The atmosphere is very nice and authentic. Highly recommendable to foreign visitors. The staff were very friendly and room was clean. Furo (onsen bath room) is nicely decorated, especially the outdoor ones. Sure it was safe. Of outdoor attractions, the snow monkey park was the top. Nice streets of Shibu Onsen are also worth a stroll.

Hida Takayama - Minshuku Kuwataniya

We enjoyed our stay at the Kuwataniya very much!
This staff is extremely helpful land even assisted in booking a ferry for a later port of our journey! The food is excellent and in our opinion, anybody staying at this minshuku will do well ordering breakfast and dinner as well - the value is insuppressible. The location of this minshuku could not be better! It is located very near to the train station and also very conveniently for sightseeing. We used the minshuku bicycles to quickly reach all main sights of the city including point well outside of the center (Hide Folk Village). Not to be forgotten, the minshuku also offers a hot bath. All in all, we were pleasantly surprised and had a truly Japanese experience!
One suggestion: perhaps it would be possible to use the hot bath as private, family baths for limited hour in the future.

Kyoto City - Ryokan Wakamiya

Convenient location to the Kyoto train station. About 5 minutes walk. Staff was very friendly and super helpful. Room was spacious and I was able to find a wireless internet connection. Liked how the ensuite bathroom was separate from the bedroom. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay immensely. Would highly recommend staying here.

Hakone Onsen

I love Hakone Suimeisou Annex. The location is very convenient, and the single room at the Annex is warm and clean. I have a very comfortable stay here, and the indoor hotspring is good too. For non-smokers, do remember to request for a room on the non-smoking floor. By the way, I understand Hakone is a place for relaxation and to be away from computers, however, it will be good to provide at least one computer with Internet access, as travellers may need to use that to plan their itinerary.
